Who are Industry Associates?
This opening session introduces Industry Associates to their role, the structure of the programme and the value of their industry expertise in a Further Education setting. Industry Associates begin to explore how industry insights, occupational standards, and experience as successful learners can transfer into teaching and learning. Safeguarding is introduced as an essential responsibility in Further Education. The session also introduces the idea that each session will model practical approaches that Industry Associates may later use in their work to support teaching.

Industry Associates will:
- Understand the role of an Industry Associate.
- Know what to expect from the programme and how the sessions are structured.
- Recognise how aspects of their professional expertise transfer to the teaching environment.
- Reflect on their own experience as successful learners.
- Begin to understand key professional responsibilities in Further Education, including safeguarding.
