Session Nine
How do we create a safe and positive learning environment?
This session helps Industry Associates understand what it means to create a safe and positive learning environment in FE. Drawing on their own industry experience of safety, Industry Associates explore physical, psychological and emotional safety, and consider how these apply in classrooms, workshops and other learning spaces. The session uses peer learning and workshop activities to build a practical strategy bank for supporting safety, wellbeing and inclusion.
Industry Associates will:
- Understand what a safe and positive learning environment means in FE.
- Draw on their industry experience to think about safety and wellbeing in education.
- Explore provider local policies on safety and wellbeing.
- Clarify Industry Associate responsibilities and sources of support.
- Collaboratively create a strategy bank of practical guidance for supporting safe and positive learning.
